The population of Delaware on April 1, 2000 was 783,600 as per the latest decennial census data. The latest estimates from June 1, 2006 place the population at 853,476, that&#039;s an increase of 8.9%. 

Projections listed on the US Census Bureau website thru July 1, 2030 have Delaware breaking the one million resident plateau with an estimate of 1,012,658 by the year 2030.</description>
