Welp, when we moved to our house in New Castle a few years back it had a above ground pool. I was excited cause I had a pool growing up as a kid and already knew how to take care of one etc. It is a 22′ round abv ground pool, with a half deck, and it is nice and pretty new. We are so busy, I just don’t have the time to keep it maintained, cleaned, chemical balanced, etc. on top of that we don’t use it much at all so I am taking it down.
This has a few good points I see.
- I wont have to take care of it anymore
- We will be saving on our bills (electric, water, etc.)
- I won’t feel like a trashy neighbor with a green pool
- We will have more “running room” in the yard and better places for the playset and trampoline.
- I can use the sweet brick pavers and stone for my front yard landscaping.
- Don’t have to worry anymore about the kids sneaking in and getting hurt, or worse.
I have started already, draining the pool, that will be done today and I can start demolition. It had a nice wood deck half way around it I’m going to attempt to save and use on the back of the house.
I asked my dad what i should do with the pool, is it worth selling, scrapping, etc. He says just trash it, I don’t have a pickup to take it to the scrap yard and I don’t think the scrap yard would give me more then i would pay to rent a truck so I’m just going out with a sledge and a sawzall and going at it
I need a wheel barrow, bad….
[...] would want it, just cause of the removal and transport and setup and all that fun stuff, but I am getting rid of my pool and if you have the means to take it, take it, free…… It’s a nice pool, in good shape, 22′ [...]
